Scott Elias Young

Scott Elias Young was born 31 January 1956 in Salt Lake City to Newell Dunster Young and Oreta Joanne Strong Young. He was the youngest of four children. Scott enjoyed books and music. Scott never married and lived on his own in the Avenues of Salt Lake City.

In early 2012 Scott suffered a long fall that fractured his neck and back. This left him no use of his lower body and very minimal use of his hands and arms. He had repeated episodes of pneumonia. In December of 2015 he was diagnosed with pneumonia again and passed away peaceful with his parents at his side on 29 December 2015 in Bountiful, Utah.  Scott was cremated and his ashes were placed inside his father’s casket when his father Newell Young was buried in April 2016.

Scott was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Joanne Young Baker. At Scott’s passing he was survived by his parents, Newell D. Young & Oreta Joanne Strong Young, his brother Craig Young and his wife LeAnn, and his sister Pamela Young Wagner and her husband Marvin. He had many nieces and nephews who enjoyed Scott’s never failing smiles and Otter Pops he supplied at the summer Barbecue’s

A headstone was placed over his father’s grave, Newell Dunster Young (1926 - 2016), to mark Scott’s time here on earth.
