Mark Monson
February 15, 1956 — December 1, 2019
Mark Williams Monson passed away on December 1, 2019. He was born February 15, 1956 in Salt Lake City, son of Robert Lazelle Monson and Frances Williams. He attended Highland High School and the University of Utah and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
In the fall of 1980, Mark met the love of his life. He and Holly were married in April. Throughout the years, he was Holly’s anchor and most enthusiastic and supportive life partner. Together they shared many unforgettable experiences: living in San Francisco, Dallas, and New York, dive trips to Bermuda, Bahamas, Honduras, and trips to Ireland and England. They were fortunate to see and do so many exciting things together: New Years in Times Square, the Subway World Series, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland, and watching the Kentucky Derby.
Mark will always be remembered for his fun-loving nature, his love of skiing, tennis, golf, and scuba diving, and always being willing to lend a helping hand. He loved being “Baba” to Sydney and Dee’s two boys and considered his trips with Matt to Hilton Head and Pebble Beach priceless adventures.
He leaves family and friends with many wonderful memories and he will be dearly missed. https://www.memorialutah.com/obituaries/mark-monson
